Right or Wrong

Since the beginning of time, people have been troubled by many questions and queries. No matter where you are from or what language you speak, people are constantly troubled by what is right or wrong.
Everything you do consists of choices you are going to make and when considering what to do you will always come to this question: Is this right or wrong ?

There are many definition of what is right and wrong is depending on what angle do you look at something. For example, in a religious viewpoint, things that you decide on are considered right when it does not go against the teachings of that particular religion. Some was wondering whether is that really enough to based your decision on religious values ?

Then, another way is by following footsteps of family members. For example, a boy that just graduated from high school begins exploring his choices for tertiary education. Some might follow their passion, interest and strong suit. Some might just follow what their parents are doing career wise. However, is it considered wrong when you dun choose something your parents want you to choose ?

Peer pressure is always in the way of deciding what is right or wrong. In the year 2010, teens might think that those who give in to peer pressures are lame or that this problem doesn't exist anymore as teens are smarter nowadays. Well whether you like it or not, it's still here not just with teens but even adults. What your peers are doing may be the right thing and some times not.

In many way, one thing is considered right by one party and considered wrong by the others. Luckily, an era where things are no longer right or wrong came to exist. That is subjectivity. Nowadays, everything is considered to be subjective. Thus, there is more than just whether it is right or wrong.  Other things should be considered too when making a decision. For example, the consequences of taking one action.
How would your decision affect others ?

Whenever someone asked me whether is this right or wrong, I can't help but get a little frustrated by why is everyone so obsessed with whether is it right or wrong ?  I prefer to decide by analyzing what my decision would do and most importantly how it make me feel. If doing the "right" thing doesn't make you feel "good" then is there a point ? However, we can't just based on how we feel because what we feel don't really make it a good reason to do something.

In conclusion, there is a need to consider many things that might lead back to following your parents' footsteps since they have been through it all. During my graduation from high school, I've learned that things are not as easy as right or wrong but consist of many other factors. So, stop obsessing with what's right and just decide and go through life by thinking what's best for you.

new direction

Those who watch Glee on Star World channel 711 every Wednesday night should be familiar with the term "New Direction". For those who doesn't watch Glee, new direction is the name of the main characters' glee club.

Now, you guys reading my blog or what's left of my readers, must be wondering what does New Direction have to do with my blog ? Maybe some will think that I'm gonna talk about the show "Glee". Well, I think that's a little late isn't it ? Since the finale of season 1 already aired. So, I'm not gonna write about that show.

Today was the 2nd term Parents Day held at my siblings' high school. I went to that school too during my high school years. While I was there I stayed for a while and talked to my ex-mandarin teacher and we talked about young teens and their problems especially what I had and she make me feel like talking about some topics and immediately I thought about my old abandoned blog.

So, new direction means this blog will be stirred and directed into a new direction. This means instead of writing about what I experienced during my day like my blog used to or like most blogs out there, this blog will be filled with topics not related to my daily life but might be useful.
